Meeting mom

So earlier this week, I was able to meet Jeremy's mom Carla for the first time. She lives in Idaho and came down for an overnight stay. She came to visit with him and also to meet me. I was a little nervous, but once I started talking with her all the nervousness went away. She was very easy to talk with and we had a great time. We talked a little bit at Jeremy's and then decided to go to lunch. We had already driven through Hermiston without picking a place and just decided to continue on to Tri-Cities early. Our plan was to head to Tri-Cities later that afternoon and have dinner with my parents. When I called to say that we were on the way there my mom freaked out because she hadn't had a chance to run her errands yet. She was going to meet us for lunch but said she would see us at home so she could get her stuff done. After lunch we headed to my parents house and my dad happened to be home for lunch. He was able to meet her and we sat around and talked until my mom got home. The afternoon was pretty lazy which was nice. I helped my mom get dinner prepped so we could relax. Then my mom and his mom sat out on the swing and visited while Jeremy and I went to get coffee for everyone. Dinner was wonderful and afterwards we played a couple of games of Farkel. All in all, the visit was great and I'm glad she was also able to meet my parents. I had to go to work the next day but Jeremy and his mom were able to visit before he headed to work. He told me later that they talked about me and my parents and she said how much she liked us!! Hopefully Jeremy and I can make a trip sometime this summer to Idaho to visit her.

I'm Vice President!

Thursday night was the last night for my bowling league. To end our season we decided to have some fun. We did something called Blind Scotch Doubles. All of our names were put into a hat and then they were chosen at random. All of us had partners and one person would throw the first ball; if they got a strike then great, but if they didn't get them all down the other partner would try and get a spare. My partner and I didn't do the best. I couldn't bowl for the life of me that night, but at least I had fun! After we were done, awards and money were handed out. My partner and I got last place but still got $7 each. We didn't get any awards but our team had a lot of fun! Then we nominated and voted on new officers for the next year. I was nominated for Vice President and got it!! Haha! Actually Jeremy had the job the last year but he has too many other things going on and won't be able to bowl next year, so I took his place. I thought I was getting some time to relax on Thursday nights but we start Summerbowl next week. I have to keep up on my game!

Chillin with the parents

Since dating Jeremy, we have started a tradition of hanging out with my parents on Tuesday nights. Sometimes we have met them somewhere for dinner and have enjoyed just sitting around talking. Mostly though I help my mom fix something for dinner and then we end up either playing a game or sitting around playing mom's Nintendo DS.

A couple weeks ago, Jeremy and I helped mom and dad clean up the patio and we had our dinner out there. It was beautiful weather and it was great to just sit and relax and visit. We also built a fire and made s'mores! I'm sure we will have many more times like that to come.

We did even plan that sometimes mom and dad would come down to Hermiston and we could go out to eat or make something at the apt. However, Jeremy likes going to Tri-Cities because it's his one night a week he can get out of Hermiston and I don't blame him for wanting to do that. All of us have gotten into the habit of seeing each other on Tuesdays and so nothing is ever planned with anyone else! We all look forward to our time together.

I've decided that soon we need to go down on a Wednesday and go out to Inca's for dinner. I know, another day of the week! It has to be that night though because they have their special 1/2 price fajitas from 6:30 to 8:30. Dad and I used to go there all the time for that and I miss it so I thought it would be a good idea to head back.

We will see what other ideas we can come up with for our future date nights!!

Bowling

Since January of this year, I have been in two different bowling leagues. One of them is Sunday night and the other is Thursday night. I have had a great time on them and love the people I get to visit with and have fun with. It's a highlight of my week especially if work has been yucky. I am in it for the fun and don't get too upset when the ball doesn't go where I want it to. I am constantly improving and increasing my average!

When I first started I think my family thought I was a bit crazy for liking bowling so much to be involved in leagues. However, the tables have changed and my mom is hooked. Haha! She has been driving down on Thursday nights to watch Jeremy and me bowl. Sometimes she brings her best friend and sometimes my dad. It's great to have someone rooting for us and its like having our very own cheering squad. She also discovered the pizza at the alley is awesome and sometimes I wonder if she is only coming for the pizza and we are a side note!!

We only have a couple of weeks left until we are finished. I'm glad for the break but can only enjoy it for a little bit. Jeremy and I decided to be on a friends team for the summer bowling league. We chose Thursday night so if we had plans on a Sunday night we wouldn't have to rush to league. It should be a great time especially with the team we will be with. Who knew bowling would become such a big part of my life. It has turned out to be a great hobby and its been great to meet so many new people.

Wii

A couple of weeks ago, a friend of my roommates Tyson came over and Jeremy was over. We also decided to turn on the Wii and have some head to head competitions. That was quite interesting at times! The boys really got into the games, while Andrea and I preferred to just sit back and watch while drinking wine!! Hehe The boys playing tennis

We played all sorts of games like tennis, bowling, golf and boxing. The bowling is more my style, but I did try tennis and boxing. Jeremy is a whiz at the tennis and he tried to coach me but I think I am a lost cause and he was getting a little irritated at me. Oh well! Thank goodness he didn't watch me box cause that was hilarious and quite the workout!

Andrea and I were able to get some good pictures of the boys in action. I even have a great one of Jeremy all tuckered out at the end of the night. He just wore himself out!All tuckered out!

All in all it was a great night and we had lots of fun.Jeremy and me

Easter

Family Picture

Lately, the last couple of years have been out of the norm for Easter plans. Last year I had to work on Easter and mom and dad and Jen came down to Hermiston. They brought dinner with them and we just sat around and visited. This year, I was hoping Jeremy could spend the holiday with my family. However he had to work but was at least able to get away to go to church. So I ended up going to church with him that morning and then heading up to Tri-Cities for the rest of the day. My sister was in town and I wanted to be able to be with her and my parents. Our family actually got invited to dinner which was nice that my mom didn't have to cook and we didn't have to clean up! It was a very relaxing time. Then my sister headed home back to Seattle and I headed back to Hermiston because I had bowling league.

One of the best things that happened that day was when I got to league that night. I let Jeremy know when I got home but he was at Walmart and decided to just meet me at the bowling alley. When I got there, I noticed something on the chair next to him. He had bought me a stuffed Easter bunny and around its neck was a beautiful necklace!!! It was a circle with the word Faith etched into it and a cross hanging in the middle. It is absolutely beautiful and I love it!! I showed it off to everyone I could!!!

All in all, it turned out to be a pretty good holiday!

Jeremy

I know it has been a long time since I have posted and I apologize. I have been a little preoccupied this past month with a new relationship.

Jeremy and I met through a mutual friend and through both of us bowling. We started out as friends and would talk on the phone or text each other. We even met a couple of times for breakfast. Gradually we started getting closer and closer and before we knew it the rest was history! Haha!

I am very happy and he is awesome! I can't believe it has already been a month. I feel like we have been together for so much longer. I am so comfortable with him and we have so much fun together. He always can make me laugh and I love getting his hugs.

My parents really like him, which is a big bonus for me! Tuesday nights have been our "date" night with my parents. We are planning it so sometimes my parents drive down here and then we drive up there. Sometimes we go out to eat and other times mom has cooked and then we have sat around the table playing Farkel or Chicken Foot. It's been nice for all of us to be together and relax.

Right now Jeremy is working two jobs. He is a supervisor out at the Walmart Distribution Center and he works part time at Fastenal. He does work seven days a week, but we still see plenty of each other. On Sunday, he is able to get a couple of hours off work to go to church where I meet up with him. Then usually on Mondays or Tuesdays we can have lunch together. Then of course we always keep in touch with texting as much as we can!

Things are going great right now and I can't wait to see what the future will bring!
